They were originally in Edgecombe Co North Carolina where John purchased land in 1744. They had four known children:

William McKissack was born 1750/1756 in NC and died 1823 in Person Co NC. He married Betsey Winstead........He stayed in Person Co NC.

Robert McKissack was born 1754 in NC and died unknown. (The only record of him is that he is on a 1771 tax list with his father in NC and he is 16 years of age. He was not in his father's will of 1800 Person Co NC, so presumed dead by that year.

Thomas McKissack was born 24 Dec 1755 in Person Co NC and died 25 July and was buried in Mt Moriah Cemetery in Pulaski, Giles Co Tn ....He served in the Revolutionary War and was at Valley Forge that terrible winter with George Washington......he moved to Tennessee and probably got bounty land there for his service in the Continental Army. He had many descendants in Tennessee and there were some colorful characters there.

John McKissack born 1740/1745 in North Carolina and died June 1815 in Putman Co., Georgia. John McKissack married Jane Hudson.

Mary "Polly" McKissack was born 1760/1770 in Caswell Co NC and died 1840 in Jasper Co Ga. She married Samuel Pennington.

William McKissack was born 1770 in Caswell Co NC and died Apr 1848 in Polk Co Tn. He married Mary McConnell. Their children: John born 28 Feb 1791 Jefferson Co Tn and died 28 Aug 1855 Polk Co Tn married Martha Williams, William Henry born 1893 Tn and died 19 Apr 1877 Missouri married 1. Sarah Williams 2. Kathern WAshburn, Mary born 1794 Tn married Joshua Guinn, Susannah born 1794 Tn and died after 1850 Tn, Abraham born 1802 Tn and died 1874 Polk Co Tn married 1. Roseanna 2. Althea Harris, Rebecca, James who was killed in the 1820's in Saline Co Mo.

Duncan McKissack was born 1771 in Caswell Co NC and died Mar 1850 in Jasper Co Ga. His wife's name is unknown. Duncan's children: John F McKissack Sr born 1794 Tn and died Mar/Apr 1872 Jasper Co Ga married Epsada Daniel, Abigail born 1800 Jasper Co Ga and died 1850/1860 Limestone Co Tx, Sarah born 1802 Jasper Co Ga and died 1850/1860 Limestone Co Tx, Thomas W born 1808 Jasper Co Ga and died 4 July 1888 Jasper Co Ga married Jane H Allen, Young William H born 1814 Jasper Co Ga and died 17 Nov 1881 Limestone Co Tx married Frances E Adams, Isaac Duncan born 1819 Jasper Co Ga and died 1865 in Falls Co Tx he never married and was murdered.

Jonathan McKissack was born 1772 in Caswell Co NC and died 9 Jan 1813 in Person Co NC. He married Nancy Gray.

Thomas McKissack was born 1773 in Caswell Co NC and died 9 May 1836 in Russell Co Al. He married Mary Browning.

Archibald W. McKissack was born 1775 in Caswell Co NC and died 1857 in Henry Co Al. He married Lucy Ann Ellis. Archibald and Lucy's children: William born 1803 Ga and married Mariah WArd, Mary born 29 Nov 1807 Ga and died 5 May 1845 and was buried in Perryman Cemetery in Henry Co Al and married Matthew T Perryman, Radford Ellis born 1810 Putnam Co Ga and died 1882 Henry Co Al and married Mary Martha Jones, Archibald W born 15 Feb 1820 Putnam Co Ga an ddied 18 Feb 1888 and buried in Shorterville Bapt Cemetery in Henry Co Al married Mary Fidelia Rison, Elizabeth born 1823 Henry Co Al and died in Tx married 1. John McKissack was born 1785 in Tn and died after 1850 probably in Tallapoosa Co Al. He married Rachel Simmons 1815 Ga. John and Rachel's only know child: Sarah Ann B born 1821 Ga and died in Jefferson Co Al married Littleberry Meeks.
